Let's start at the beginning: in what position did you start here?
"Initially, I started as a temporary worker at MOL (location Fuji), where I started as a warehouse employee. I then moved on to the General Cargo department at Hermex (a subsidiary of MOL Logistics), where I spent quite a long time managing a small team. In that position, I was again internally at Fujifilm and became Teamleader. I started with a small team and then a team of about 20 colleagues. Eventually I was asked to join MOL Logistics as Teamleader Warehouse and I have been doing so since May 2019."
What opportunities have you had for development? Have you done any training?
"Often you create opportunities yourself, by being positive in work and life. That is also how I have always been asked to fill other positions. Over the years I have done various training and courses, such as obtaining forklift truck licences, ADR (for handling chemicals), air cargo controller and practical supervisor. The latter I enjoyed, and still enjoy, very much.
What does your workday as Teamleader Warehouse look like?
"Every working day starts with planning and a meeting with the foremen. We discuss the day and see what needs to be done. I like to encourage the people around me to think along with me and solve things. In my new job, more peripheral tasks have been added, such as arranging materials, stock management and discussions with HR (Human Resources). I find that very fun and varied. Sometimes it is a surprise what comes your way. It could be an unexpected visit from the pest control or packaging material that has to be ordered or collected. So every day is different. For the time being, there are enough challenges and I won't be bored in this job.

What makes your work so enjoyable (or not)?
"I always try to look on the bright side and, together with the team, keep customers happy. Everyone has their own responsibility here, which took some getting used to and searching for in the organisation at first. As a 'new kid on the block', I really had to get to know the company again. That's why I helped organise the 100th anniversary of MOL Logistics, also to get to know more people. In that respect, I am a real people person and I like to take new colleagues or temporary employees under my wing."
What do you think are the strengths of MOL Logistics as an employer?
"Especially the informality and the short lines. You talk to everyone, no matter who you are or what position you have. The doors are always open and there is a lot of involvement. MOL Logistics is a real personal company and I really like that. I've never been reluctant to go to work; I often think: oh, it's time to go home already. But I am often busy with my work, also after working hours. I read my email to find out what's going on.
Why would you recommend MOL Logistics to candidates?
"Especially the informal character and the many career opportunities. You can start here as a warehouse employee and eventually grow to be a supervisor, for example."
Can you describe the company in 1 or 2 words?
"That is, in a word, informal!"
